Angus Becke-Smith
Angus Becke-Smith is an ACT/SA based cinematographer and filmmaker.
Cinematography
Angus is an emerging cinematographer & writer, recently completing a Bachelor of Creative Arts(Screen) with Honours at Flinders University.
He has worked with both digital and 16mm film formats, and has diversified his style & portfolio by shooting stylised genre films.
In 2021 he shot the drama film, My Father's Son, on 16mm film. In late 2021 he shot the crime thriller, Bomb Voyage, which went on to win Best Student Cinematography at the Sony Catchlight Film Festival, an award which he would win again the following year for his 2022 film Hill's Hoist (which he shot, wrote, directed and edited). Hill's Hoist would also win a Bronze ACS award in the student film category at the SA & WA State Awards.
Angus has also received recognition for his writing on the film "IN THE PRESENT" which won best script in the Fleurieu Film Festival in 2023.
Since finishing his studies he has worked as a freelance camera operator in both live and recorded settings and has received his first broadcast credit with his work on season 5 & 6 of the nationally broadcast show "Paramedics" which is broadcast on channel NINE.
